JLG featured in "Precision Construction" new book for telematics

JLG Industries is prominently featured in Precision Construction: Principles, Practices and Solutions for the Internet of Things, a new book highlighting a series of eight case studies of digital technologies in action from contractors, rental companies, OEMs and suppliers.
Among the highlights, readers will learn more about how JLG is embedding more electronics into equipment and hiring software developers and data scientists to further differentiate the company’s products and meet customers’ needs.
According to Guru Bandekar, JLG vice president of engineering, “The book is a great snapshot of how the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud data and artificial intelligence are impacting the construction industry. Additionally, the book provides an overview on how JLG is providing innovative solutions for connected machines and worksites through IoT technology, as part of its promise to enhance customers’ utilization and performance of their equipment.”
In addition to Bandekar, Gary Burgess, JLG vice president of information technology (IT), was also consulted. Burgess leads IT initiatives for the company, with an emphasis on how equipment interfaces with IoT-related resources.
“It’s an exciting time for JLG and others in our industry as we embrace the digital revolution and drive towards more connected job sites, said Burgess.  “As a market leader, we look forward to continuing to bring a world class suite of products and services to our customers in an increasingly digital world.”
The book is available for purchase through Amazon in print and audio versions. It is also available as a Kindle download.
