Bourgault Innovates its Seeding Sector With the New 9000 and 8000 Series

Since releasing the world’s first tow-behind air seeder in 1980, Bourgault has continued to be at the forefront of air seeder technology.

Keeping up with their commitment to innovation, Bourgault has released two new ranges of air seeders with the 9000 I Series and the 8000 Series. Five new models in three sizes make up the 9000 I Series range. This includes the 9650 (22,900L), 9950 (33,460L) and the 91300(45,790L).

Both the 9650 and 9950 come in tow between configurations. The new series has four individual tanks, each with three load cells for accurate, independent weight reading even on uneven ground.

The 9650 models have 30/20/20/30 tank splits, while the larger 9550 and 91300 have a 19/18/11/23 ratio. All models can have an optional small seeds Saddle TankTM, adding a further 1,500L capacity. Bourgault has placed a large emphasis on selecting heavy-duty running gear and putting more rubber under the 9000 Series air seeders.

Being equipped with large diameter, increased inflection (IF) tires deliver new low ground pressures, reduced rolling resistance, maximizing flotation which helps to
ensure uniform germination. Even with the increase in the size of seeders,
the 9650, in both trailing and tow between configurations, has three-meter centre options for Controlled Traffic Farming (CTF).

The 9000 I Series seeders also come standard with a 15” conveyor, whilst the two
tow-between models come standard with a folding conveyor, achieving
high capacity whilst looking after the seed. The load/unload conveyor and tank sump design also provides easy cleanout. The proven PDM PROTM metering units with hydraulic drive motors are also a staple of the new series.

The UHMW liner and orifice with a steel metering auger provides the highest degree
of accuracy, minimizes troublesome products from sticking to the inside of the housing, while still providing gentle seed handling.

The seeders are also coupled to Bourgault’s EVENSTREAMTM primary distribution system, to ensure even distribution across the bar. Centring vanes and ribbed plastic inserts positioned above primary manifolds ensure the product is positioned to achieve even distribution out to the secondary heads. All models have the option of not only single and double-shot, but the new TriMax™ triple-shoot Primary Lines providing three separate air streams for the ultimate in seed and fertilizer placement.

Another new release is the 8000 Series air seeders, designed specifically with Australian farmers in mind. The 8000 Series combines the same accuracy, flexibility, and dependability of previous generations of Bourgault air seeders with six new models of three capacities350 bushels (12,330L), 450 bushels (15,850L) and 550 bushels (19,370L) – in both trailing and tow-between configurations.

The 8000 Series continues with the popular KNEX integral tank design, allowing
for products to be combined from separate tanks, metering from one metering unit. Similar to the 9000 I Series, they are also equipped with PDM PRO metering units whilst larger rubber and new technologies in tire design has been integrated under the seeders in efforts to reduce soil compaction.

Bourgault’s EVENSTREAMTM primary distribution system is also used in conjunction with either single or double-shot primary air streams, allowing all tanks to meter into either air stream and providing even distribution across even the largest of toolbars.

They have also been designed to offer options for controlled traffic farming (CTF), with three-meter front axles and high-capacity single tire options for rear axles. Liquid ready streamliner models are also available for all 8000 series models for growers looking to apply liquid N or other liquid fertilizers as part of their one-pass operation.
