Hastings Deering Introduces the New Cat 966 GC Wheel Loader

Hallmarked by its reliability, productivity, and operating ease across a range of applications using legacy components, the 966 GC will offer even greater versatility and capability.

The new Cat 966 GC Wheel Loader is designed for reliable performance and long-term durability in a wide range of applications that require a capable, versatile machine that fits the budget. Fitted with the ever-reliable Cat 9.3B engine, the 966 GC achieves a maximum gross power rating of 239 kW, meeting Tier 3/Stage IIIA emission standards.

An electronically controlled, hydraulically driven, variable-speed cooling fan, combined with the Cat Engine Idle Management System, results in lower fuel consumption and reduced sound levels. 

Using a Caterpillar designed and build 4F/4R electronically controlled, planetary powershift transmission, it features an electronic clutch, with a pressure-compensated, single-clutch shifting system for smooth, efficient gear changes in all operating situations.

Easy to Operate, Maintain and Service

The intuitive, ergonomic 966 GC control system includes an operator interface display—with five analog-like gauges, colour indicator lights, and an LCD screen—all within easy view of the operator and allowing operators to quickly monitor machine systems. Inclined ladders and integrated handrails are located on both sides of the machine to provide access to the cab and to the engine air filter—with safety in mind. A large roof-to-floor, distortion-free, flat glass front windshield; standard rearview camera; and exterior mirrors with integrated spot mirrors provide all-around visibility.

Integrated into 966 GC systems, Product Link allows remote monitoring using VisionLink and the machine can also be configured with the optional rear-view camera and Cat Production Measurement systems to further enhance operator performance and productivity.
