Gellie’s Earthmoving is a construction company in infrastructure and maintenance works. Ned Gellie had a passion for earthmoving from a very young age playing in the sand pit. While completing his diesel mechanic apprenticeship, Ned gained employment on weekends with local earthmovers, and later worked all over Australia on some of the biggest projects at that time such as the Thomson Dam & Alcoa to gain experience.
In 1983 Ned & Wendy Gellie purchased their first piece of equipment, a Fiat Allis Bulldozer, and then a HITACHI EX200-1 Excavator. The relationship started with Hitachi distributor; Blackwood Hodge who became Marubeni Construction and Mining Equipment and then Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia in 1999. This was the beginning of Gellie’s Earthmoving and the continued Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) relationship.
Gellie’s Earthmoving is a family owned & operated business. In the early days Gellie’s main focus was on soil conservation & agriculture projects, also specialising in and supporting the construction and roads industry. Throughout the years they have also been extensively involved in windfarm construction and work all over Victoria on national railway infrastructure & maintenance projects.
Gellie’s have a wide range of equipment including Bulldozers, Excavators, Tractor & Scoop, Front End Loaders, Grader, Dump Truck, Tip Trucks, Side Tippers & Low Loaders. Gellie’s also have Hi Rail equipment, one of the machines being a Hitachi ZX170-3 rubber tyred excavator.
